LOSTPROPHETS Attack Anti-War Bands
March 21, 2003LOSTPROPHETS singer Ian Watkins has launched an attack on bands who are speaking out against the war on Iraq.
In a Radio 1 interview, Watkins claimed that most anti-war musicians are more interested in publicity than politics.
"They just think, 'Anti-war is cool, let's speak out — more record sales', which I think is wrong," he said. "I don't think they know the background of what's really going on. Do you think Bush is saying, 'Oh, I don't know about this war now because Ms Dynamite said it was wrong'."
Guitarist Mike Watkins added: "If Tony Blair doesn't listen to his backbenchers, will he listen to some rock star?"
